Food Scene on the Rise in Spokane, WA

As we close out the semester, I wanted to share some spots you can’t miss in Spokane. As I have become more familiar with this city, I’ve been able to seek out the incredible food scene. And let me tell ya, it’s kind of unbelievable…

My first experience with the food scene in Spokane was in 2021 when I began working at a fine dining restaurant in downtown Spokane. It was my first time working in such an environment and it opened my eyes to the intricacy and passion for cuisine. This restaurant prides itself on fresh and local ingredients which was reflected in the seasonal dishes prepared by the incredible head chef. From the knowledge communicated by the wait staff in what drinks to pair with each dish on the menu to which dishes work with specific pallets, I learned so much!! Being around people who appreciate the beauty and gift of delicious food was a pivotal moment for me to realize how excited I am about the art of cooking. Surrounding myself with fellow foodies has not only filled my cup but has been the reason I’ve tried so many spots in Spokane. The city’s food scene is continuously growing and making a name for Spokane. There’s always a new spot to try!

This is your sign to text a friend and plan a food date. You deserve it!

South Perry Pizza

Highly recommend ordering the Pesto Chicken or Hot Honey Pizza. Have tried many spots in town but this spot won my heart. Still dreaming about this meal.

Meeting House Cafe

Pictured above is a Flat White and Parfait Bowl. Absolutely delish but their pastries are where it’s at! Also, if you’re a chai lover, I highly recommend the Iced Golden Chai. The drink has turmeric, ginger, black pepper, lemon, and sweet chai. An incredible immunity beverage while also being incredibly refreshing. Meeting House is such a sweet hidden gem in the Perry District to study or hangout with friends.

First Avenue Coffee

Okay, obviously biased about this recommendation because The Women’s Network hosted our Networking Event here last weekend. BUT the staff, coffee, pastries, and energy are just fabulous. Best coffee in Spokane IMO…just saying!

Molé Restaurant

If you find yourself in Kendall Yards, I highly recommend you check this spot out! Born in Oaxaca and spending over 20 years there learning the details of generations-old recipes, Head Chef, Fredy Martinez, spearheaded the development of the menu at Mole with a commitment to honoring his vibrant heritage and the dishes he grew up enjoying. I enjoyed the shrimp tacos the other night with a friend of mine. Such a treat especially as the weather warms up and patio seating opens overlooking the river. 🙂
